Conclusions

After interviewing Natasha and analyzing Harbor Freight Tools management information system, we have concluded that in order for Harbor Freight tools to operate smoothly, its MIS must function effectively and efficiently. Their current database need to be updated. There are many sub-skus for a specific item, by fixing this problem they would be able to make their database more efficient and allow things to be found quicker for the customers. The prevention of information silos reduces the time employees would have spent asking higher departments questions or asking highest departments for specific codes to do over rights and inventory check.

Harbor Freight tools will have to make improvements on its information management system if they want to follow its business strategy and perform to their best ability. Harbor Freight tools prided itself on providing quality products are ridiculously low prices. Using Chameleon allows them to keep track on inventory efficiently but not effectively that is one of the recommendations made for Harbor Freight Tools. Overall Harbor Freight Tools is doing a great job at their company, their service is one of the best known and if they just implement couple of the recommendations given they would soon be one of the leading tool retails next to Home Depot and Lowes.
